LARGEST QUANTITY OF SEEDS DONATED BY STUDENTS IN A SEED BANK

To Create Environmental Awareness among Students and Promote the Importance of Seed Conservation, YASHWANT SHIKSHAN SANSTHA VEERBAUG, SURUR’S, BALASAHEB PAWAR HIGH SCHOOL, Udtare, Taluka – Wai, District – Satara, Maharashtra., initiated a remarkable Seed Collection Project under the leadership of Principal SHRI DADASAHEB BANSODE. A total of 341 students actively participated in the initiative and collectively gathered an impressive 16,47,818 seeds from 30 different varieties. All the collected seeds were systematically donated to a Seed Bank with the objective of promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental practices. Through this outstanding effort, the institution successfully set a New Record with World Records India on 26th February, 2026. The Project was incited and coordinated by Shri Prakash Pralhad Sonawane and Ms. Sonali Sharad Tanpure, Project In-Charge.
