MOST DIVERSE LITERARY WORKS PUBLISHED IN KUTCHI AND GUJARATI LANGUAGE
Gautam Shantilal Joshi, a 65-year-old laureate in Kutchi and Gujarati literature from Bhuj, Kutch, Gujarat, India, has made an exceptional contribution to regional literature. Between 1985 and 2026, he wrote and published 37 books in the Kutchi language and 10 books in Gujarati. His literary work spans a wide range of genres, including 1 novel in Gujarati, 5 novels in Kutchi, more than 550 short stories, 30 plays broadcast on Akashvani Bhuj (Radio), 1 research book on Kutchi plays, 1 travel narrative in Kutchi, 5 translations including the epics Shreemad Bhagavat and Shree Ramcharitmanas, 1 Kutchi essay collection, and 1 poetry collection. Through this remarkable and diverse body of work, he set a new record on 26th March 2026.
