 YOUNGEST JAIN SADHVIJI TO OBSERVE 1008 AYAMBIL (FASTS)

MAHA TAPASVI PUJYA SHREE PARAM SAUMYAJI MAHASATIJI, a 49-year-old Jain Sadhviji who is the disciple of RASHTRASANT PARAM GURUDEV SHREE NAMRAMUNI MAHARAJ SAHEB has observed a tough penance of Jainism known as Ayambil Tapasya. This penance contains 1008 fast days in 33 months. Her fast began on Dt. 23rd July 2021, and she will end this fast on Dt.28th April 2024 and set a New World Record at Malini Kishor Sanghvi Shanti Prabha Hall, Vile-Parle (West), Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Ayambil is a Jain fasting tradition that involves eating only boiled pulses & lentils once a day and is more of a diet restriction than a fast. The food is dry, free of degenerative substances, and made up of a single ingredient, such as Sugar, Milk, Ghee, Oil, Yogurt, or Fried items. The event was managed by Shri Vile Parle Vardhman Shthanakvasi Jain Shravak Shangh, Mumbai.
