FIRST-EVER EFFORT MADE TO OFFER FREE EDUCATION TO TRANSGENDERS.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and the Government of Gujarat, India have created the first-ever platform for transgenders to offer free education. The first-ever effort of this kind globally, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University has introduced a free financial assistance scheme for transgender students to avail of education with the support of the Government of Gujarat in order to foster Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s dream of inclusive education as well as the right to education. Government of Gujarat, Prof. (Dr.) Ami Upadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, and the entire staff of BAOU, Ahmedabad are commended for their extraordinary efforts to integrate students into mainstream society.
