FIRST EVER CHILD MARRIAGE ANNULMENT

Kriti Bharti, Rehabilitation Psychologist and Managing Trustee of Saarthi Trust, Jodhpur , Rajasthan India has annulled the First ever child marriage of India on 24th April 2012 at Jodhpur, Rajasthan during the occasion of Akshay Tritya (Popular occasion for solemnizing child marriages). Child Bride Lakshmi Sargara (18) who was married to Rakesh when they were just only one and three years respectively. Kriti Bharti of Saarthi Trust helped Lakshmi and counselled Rakesh for not to go ahead with the child marriage and proceeded on the path of child marriage annulment. After this achievement Kriti Bharti of Saarthi Trust has so far annulled 30 pairs of child marriages.
